Frederic De Peyster
Frederic de Peyster II (November 11, 1796, New York City to August 17, 1882 at Tivoli, in New York) was a NYC lawyer and a prominent member of the De Peyster clan. He was born in Hanover Square in New York City as the third son of Helen Livingston (née Hake) de Peyster (1773 to 1801) and Frederick de Peyster (1758to 1834), and fought for the British during the American Revolution. Post war his father emigrated to St. John, New Brunswick, but returned to the US later. One sibling was Catherine Van Cortlandt de Peyster, who married Benjamin Hazard Field. His brother, James Ferguson De Peyster, married Frances Goodhue Ashton (parents to Frederic James de Peyster).
