INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION Pope Leo XIII, in his encyclical Annum Sacrum, speaks of the many wounds from which modern society must be healed before it can properly appreciate the lofty ideals and lofty principles that Christianity adheres to as an incentive for noble deeds. Among these wounds, the most dangerous are religious degeneration, spiritual coldness, and a rapidly spreading disbelief in the supernatural. The supernatural motives that should drive a person in his relationship with his neighbor have practically disappeared outside the True Sinus, their place has been usurped by pure altruism and humanitarian philanthropy, which do not spring from a spiritually worthy source. Even among some members of the Catholic Church, we find that this noble feeling of supernatural love loses its footing, giving way to love that has no supernatural and therefore undeserved. Human resources alone are not enough to achieve the desired treatment. Therefore, the glorified Pontiff dedicated the entire human race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Heir of all that exists, the Lover of all people, demonstrating not only the love that His followers should show but also the motives for which he should be inspired. It is the love of Christ for us and its motives that are offered to our worship under the symbol of the Heart, the dedication of which is said in this book.
