The Philosophy of Giambattista Vico

The philosophy of Giambattista Vico – is a work of Benedetto Croce, an Italian intellectual, atheist, critic, philosopher, politician, historian, representative of neo-Hegelianism. Giambattista Vico was an Italian philosopher of the Age of Enlightenment, the founder of modern philosophy of history, his ideas contributed to the development of cultural anthropology and ethnology. Rather, it presupposes an acquaintance with these writings, and, where it is absent, is intended to induce the reader to obtain them in order to better understand and verify the interpretations and evaluations proposed here. The author strives to show, in every detail of his work, as much as possible, reverence for the great name of Vico, and he tried to be brief, pointing to brevity, which he himself aspired to as a hallmark of impeccable scientific thought. The author also hopes that this work will revive discussion of Vico's philosophy.
