The philosophy of faith and The fourth Gospel

The philosophy of faith and The fourth Gospel – is a book written by Henry Scott Holland, Regius Professor of Divinity in the University of Oxford and edited by Wilfrid John Richmond, Honorable Canon of Winchester Cathedral. This book is divided into two separate sections. The first section, entitled "The Philosophy of Faith," attempts to present the thoughts and teachings of Dr. Henry Scott Holland as a whole. The second section is a collection of his contributions to the study of the Fourth Gospel. In the first section, the editor, Wilfrid John Richmond, was tasked with presenting Dr. Holland's teachings as a whole. To accomplish this task, he put together fragments selected from the writings of Henry Scott Holland, and that he should systematically reformulate his teaching in his own words. In what is written here, Richmond has reduced his words to a minimum. He expounded Holland's teachings almost entirely in his own words.
