Book description
In preparing this series of lessons, the author received valuable advice and assistance from various members of the College of Engineering, University of Illinois.
Since home is inextricably linked with house, and our comfort and efficiency are highly dependent on the type of houses we live in, the study "House" concentrates a lot of interesting and important things.
Moreover, a lot that is interesting in history, art and architecture, as well as much that is directly related to a person's daily life, can be connected with the house, its evolution, decoration and care.
These lessons are the result of some class work: in which the author and the students found pleasure and benefit, so the author is happy to convey them with any information and inspiration they may have for another, larger class of students.
If they contribute to a better understanding and a truer understanding of the meanings of the terms “home” and “house,” they have not failed in achieving their goal.
In our exploration of House, it will be interesting to briefly review what is known about the earliest human dwellings and how the modern home developed.
