The Gospel of John is the fourth book of the biblical New Testament.
According to Christian tradition, it is believed that it was written by John the Apostle, the "beloved disciple" of Jesus Christ, who was later called John the Evangelist.
John the Apostle was one of the twelve apostles, was the younger brother of James, son of Zebedee, and also the only one of the apostles who died of natural causes.
This book was written as a commentary on the lessons of the International Sunday School for the American newspaper Sunday School Times.
