About the Book

The Gospel of Matthew is the first book of the New Testament and the first of the four canonical Gospels. It is traditionally followed by the Gospels of Mark, Luke and John. The translation of this gospel from Greek into English is the work of Lancelot Shadwell. The translation is supplemented by the author's notes. This edition is a publication of 1859.
