The Economic Policy of Robert Walpole

The economic policy of Robert Walpole – is a work which was published in 1907 and written by Norris Arthur Brisco, sometime Schiff Fellow in Columbia University. Robert Walpole was a British Whig politician and statesman. He is usually considered the de facto first prime minister of Great Britain. Until the early 20th century, there was no systematic review of the economic policies of the Robert Walpole administration, and it was believed that there was room for research. The study attempted to streamline economic facts so that this monograph could be useful as an economic history of the period. The author hoped that he would be able to continue his studies and in the same way would relate to other periods of the 18th century. Among the various sources mentioned in the book, attention should be paid to the numerous brochures from that period. A lot of information was obtained by reading dozens of these brochures. The author has indeed attempted to present the various economic theories that have arisen as a result of the debate over excise tax; but in this he does not claim any special merit. If he can shed new light on the economic policies of Robert Walpole and streamline the economic facts of the period so that they are more accessible to students, he will be satisfied.
