The Bullitt Mission is an American diplomatic mission to Soviet Russia undertaken in 1919 at the initiative of US President Woodrow Wilson, his advisor Edward Mandell House and British Prime Minister David Lloyd George.
This mission was led by the future first American ambassador to the USSR, 28-year-old William Bullitt, an American diplomat, journalist, and novelist.
