Book description
The anatomy of the brain: a textbook for medical students is a book written by Richard H. Whitehead, Professor of Anatomy in the University of North Carolina, and published in 1902.
In preparing this short book, the author aimed to provide medical students with a clear, accurate and concise description of the anatomy of the brain, which will be used as a guide in the study of this organ.
In compiling this book, it was considered to omit the small details and to exclude as far as possible and what was still controversial.
Recognizing the value of a single nomenclature, the Latin terms adopted and recommended by the German Anatomical Society at its meeting in Basel were used, insofar as they were inserted in parentheses after the names commonly used in that country.
There are 4 chapters in the book: The Divisions of the Encephalon; The Surface Anatomy of the Encephalon; The Internal Anatomy of the Encephalon; The Conducting-paths of the Encephalon.
The book also includes 41 illustrations.
