Book description
J. Arthur Hill was a popular writer on Spiritualism, Religion, and Psychic Research.
His other books included earlier and shorter spiritualism and physical studies.
This book was written in response to an invitation to prepare a volume that would give a comprehensive answer to the question: “What is Spiritualism? ".
There is extensive literature on this subject, but the aspects are many, the ramifications are extensive, and there is not a single work that would provide an overview of everything.
The progress of psychic research has reached a new level.
The credibility of many stories that, in those distant times, a careful mind could not accept even temporarily.
The author believes that life after death and the possibility of casual communication is a legitimate conclusion from the facts.
He does not believe that communication is as free or as frequent as most Spiritualists. Nor is he convinced that the usual means of trance control are spirits at all; they can be parts of the subconscious medium that act as channels for communication from outside.
