Book description

One Hundred And Fiftieth Anniversary Of The Settlement Of Boscawen And Webster - it is a 150 year history book of the town, also includes births recorded in city records from 1733 to 1850. Boscawen is a town located in Merrimack County, New Hampshire, United States. The town was named after Edward Boscawen, a British admiral who distinguished himself at the siege of Louisbourg in 1758. In December 1882, Charles Carleton Coffin, an American journalist, war correspondent, author and politician from Boston, who was born in Boscawen, after meeting Isaac C. Gage of Penacook at a railroad depot by chance, remarked that 1883 would be the 150th year since the settlement of the city of Boscawen. It was proposed to celebrate the 150th anniversary of a city with such a rich history as Boscawen, from which so many people of high intellectual achievement and noble character have come.
