Ministers' Hand-book – is a handy hand-book for ministers for any occasion: Christenings, Weddings, and Funerals. It was published in 1906 and written by Minot Judson Savage, an American Unitarian minister, author and psychical researcher. The author began preparing this manual simply as a funeral service and for his own convenience. Due to the inconvenience of carrying two or three books, each of which, suitable for a particular occasion, is too large for the pocket. The author's habit of reciting suitable poetry during the service exacerbated this inconvenience. The desire to use the pertinent thoughts of extra-Biblical writers increased it still more. Upon learning of the author's plan to combine everything needed into one book, other ministers expressed their desire to receive copies. When the decision was made to publish, it was felt that it would be best to include baptism and wedding services. A service book for a pocket will be convenient where you need to baptize children or hold wedding ceremonies in the house. It is hoped that through choice and combination it will be possible to achieve both diversity and adaptation to all common situations.
