Book description

Mill building construction – is a work written by Henry Grattan Tyrrell, bridge and structural engineer. This small book is a guide to the construction of mills. Since the author was a civil engineer, he approached the writing of this book with particular seriousness and knowledge of the subject. The book consists of only three chapters, but no less informative from this. The first chapter covers everything there is to know about loads: roof loads, floor loads, crane loads, snow and wind loads and other loads. It also provides a summary of the methods for calculating loads. The second chapter is devoted to the planning and design of the master project and everything that comes with it. The third chapter is devoted to the design of structural parts, which includes foundations and anchors, building floor structures, floors, roofing, as well as ventilation and drainage. Comparative value is also provided.
