Mathematics for the accountant

This book is the result of a course taught at Northeastern College's School of Commerce and Finance for several years. The School's policy has always been to give its students a thorough training in all stages of accounting, and studying the annuity was considered part of the training for this profession. Even though the course is shaping at the beginning of the year, it seemed like a good idea to consider some of the rudimentary subjects that often appear on CPA exams, such as account averaging and currency exchange, and at the end of the year it seemed practical. Include some slide rule lectures. This book is intended for accountants who wish to prepare for the American Institute of Accountants exams or for the various state professional accountants; for an accountant who will have to keep accounts of the redemption fund or bonds scientifically; who can be contracted to audit the accounts of an insurance company, a savings bank, a brokerage company, or any concern that scientifically manages its bond accounts; and, finally, for the accountant, who believes that the most extensive training is best for a professional. The book ends with a chapter that looks at the basics of actuarial science differently than a quiz for exam candidates. This chapter deals with everything completely arithmetically, and no logarithmic or algebraic knowledge is required. The problems of the recent American Institute of Accountants exams and some of the recent CPA exams are being addressed and discussed. Since none of these exams use books or tables, the rules are presented in a form that is easy to remember and apply.
