Book description
This small book is only a continuation and addition to the collection of historical events and memories "Sketches of Frontier and Indian Life on the Upper Missouri and Great Plains" and personal memories of the free wilderness in these regions.
This companion sketchbook, while bordering on romance in the manner in which some of the characters and their actions described here are presented, is the same as in the previous book, but is a mere record of facts.
The actors in these thrilling dramas were both red and white, from different tribes and nationalities.
They belonged to those who build their own ideal for character with more originality and less imitation, which makes most of the human race friendly.
The author writes about scenes that cannot be reproduced and that will never be duplicated, because now there are no conditions that led to their occurrence.
The author writes about individualism, which could arise only from such conditions and surroundings, and with such a disappearance everyone has now passed or are passing through the eternal flow of time, leaving, but imperfect records, to mark their time and stage of action.
