Herod The Great, The King Of The Jews - is a book, which was published in 1859 and written by William Marinus Willett. Herod the Great was an Edomite son of Antipater, the Roman procurator of Judea. He later became King of Judea and also the founder of the Herodian dynasty. He was described as "the evil genius of the Jewish nation", "a lunatic who killed his family and many rabbis", "ready for any crime to please his unlimited ambitions", and "the greatest builder in Jewish history". Herod’s name has become a household name for a cruel and evil person. The book also contains descriptions of various historical and prophetic circumstances that were associated with the coming of Jesus Christ.
