Book description

Diseases of the Lungs: Their Pathology, Symptomatology, Diagnosis, and Treatment – is a book which was published in 1902 and written by Charles Gatchell, Professor of Diseases of the Chest and Physical Diagnosis in the Chicago Homeopathic Medical College. The aim of this work was to present to professionals the topic of lung diseases in a form that, although not overly condensed, still has the character of embodiment. This book is an attempt to give every topic pertaining to every disease state an easily accessible form and, at the same time, a form that would be of practical value. With regard to the treatment of various diseases, no attempts have been made to thicken; it is given as fully as in a larger work. In addition, special care has been taken to depict the important subject of pathology in a way that is beneficial to both the student and the diligent physician. A departure from the usual methods of classifying certain diseases will be found here. Thus, bronchopneumonia, since in its pathology, medical history and therapy, it is associated with bronchitis and not pulmonary fever, is considered in connection with the first disease. This book consists of seven sections. A glossary of terms has been added for the convenience of students.
