Colloquial Exercises in French Grammar

One of the main obstacles to teaching French in schools is exercise correction. If they are corrected privately, the chances are high that the corrections will not be visible, or at least understood by the students. If corrected separately, in the classroom, all the time is consumed. The exercises are designed in such a way that any of them can be read aloud and, if written, corrected by the students themselves in less than half an hour. Another very important advantage is that since corrections are made orally by the teacher, the student spends all the time listening and repeating French words and sentences, which is the most rational way of learning a living language. Only one point is taken at a time, and therefore only one difficulty, and taught through frequent but not tedious repetition - the purpose of this system is to prevent mistakes rather than correct them when they are done. Abundant exam papers (not intended to be corrected in class) were inserted at intervals, avoiding everything, down to the syntax. Each of these documents is divided into three parts: The first part is limited exclusively by the preceding rules. The second part basically repeats what came before, introducing new words. The third part is taken in part from examination papers established at universities and elsewhere, and may be omitted by young novices. These exercises do not replace grammars or other collections of exercises that are already in use, but, on the contrary, serve as an addition to one and an introduction to another.
