Given the importance of the coal industry, there are few practical textbooks on this topic. This guide is offered to students, gas and tar plant managers, and anyone interested in the industry and chemical technology, a concise treatise on the practical methods of coal tar distillation and tar distillation and processing of its main products. It briefly describes the plant and processes used to process the main products from coal tar distillation. Particular attention was paid to the installations used for the tar distillation and the tar distillation process, as this part of the industry is the most important, as there are many factories in which tar is distilled or partially distilled for special purposes, and distillates are sold to other distillers for processing. As far as possible, the author adhered to descriptions of attitudes and processes with which he had practical experience, and he drew many of the illustrations in schematic form to make them clearer.
