Annual reports of the officers and managers of New Jersey State Lunatic Asylum, at trenton, for the year ending October 31st, 1890

Boards of Managers of New Jersey State Lunatic Asylum respectfully submit their forty-third annual report. The reports of the Superintendent, Treasurer and Steward give in detail the facts relating to the general condition of the Asylum, and the management of their several departments for the fiscal year ending October 31st, 1890. The inventory and appraisement of the personal property owned by the Asylum, made in compliance with the law by Uriel T. Scudder and John W. Brooke together with the Steward, duly appointed by the Board to appraise the same, amounted to the sum of 144,086.20$, an increase over the inventory valuation of last year of 86,819.60$. The new building, built and furnished last year, was fully occupied by patients. Over two hundred (200) patients have been removed from the old or main building to the new. The new road which was under construction at the last report has been completed. The officers of the Asylum have exercised the same watchful care and supervision over the institution and its inmates as in previous years, to which the neatness and orderly appearance of the buildings and the grounds surrounding them, as well as the condition and comfort of the large number of patients, bear testimony.
