A history of the Jews

The Jews are one of the very rare races with a definite mission in the development of mankind - a mission that is recognized by the actors, although sometimes unwitting agents, who are destined to play the role of historical defenders of the freedom of human life, conscience, despite their own jealous and uncompromising commitment to ethical Monotheism and to the moral purpose of human life — the imperishable Jewish contributions to the foundations of civilization. Despite the extraordinary kaleidoscopic changes in Jewish history—from the conquest of the now-extinct and forgotten Canaanites to the struggle against the widespread and powerful forces of modern anti-Semitism—her extensive overview is a cycle of manifestations and problems that continually repeats itself. In essence, Jewish history is centered on the never-ending struggle between the Universalist and Particularist tendencies of Jewish thought and life, and from conflicts between prophecy and clergy to conflicts of nationalism and assimilation, we see the same heroic efforts to save Jewish life by losing it. Never before has there been such solidarity between the scattered atoms of a race, which often lacks even molecular attraction, but never before has a people risen to such sublime heights, completely forgetting about itself. This is because in this entire Jewish struggle for life one main, main goal is visible - the fulfillment of the law and prophecy in their actions in History.
