Wm. H. Meadowcroft
William Henry Meadowcroft (born on 29 May 1853 in Manchester, died on 15 October 1937 in Boonton, New Jersey) was secretary to Thomas Edison and author of a number of books, including The A B C of Electricity (1888). In 1875, he immigrated to the United States where he commenced work as a paralegal for the law firm of Carter & Eaton. His collaboration with Edison began when a senior partner of Carter & Eaton became Vice President of the Edison Electric Light Company. In 1910, Meadowcroft succeeded Frederick Miller Harry as Edison's personal secretary, which position he held until Edison's death.
