Ridgely Torrence
Frederic Ridgely Torrence (November 27, 1874 to December 25, 1950) was an American poet, and editor who was awarded the Shelley Memorial Award (1942) and the Academy of American Poets' Fellowship (1947). Torrence was born in Xenia, Ohio, where his father was a lumber dealer. He was educatetd by tutors as a child and later attended Miami University and Princeton University, but withdrew from Princeton after he suffered an illness.
