Paul Elmer More (December 12, 1864 to March 9, 1937) was an American journalist, essayist, critic, and Christian advocate. Educated at Washington University in St. Louis and Harvard University, after a short term as an academic, he worked as the literary editor of The Independent, the Nation and the New York Evening Post, and commenced his Shelburne Essays in 1904.
