John Morris
John Morris, (4 July 1826 to 22 October 1893), was an English Jesuit priest who became a scholar of Church history. Educated partly in India, and partly at the Harrow School, he read for Cambridge with the New Testament scholar Dean Alford. He gave up the idea of taking law as a career, instead becoming an enthusiast of ecclesiastical antiquities, and taking a strong interest in the Tractarian movement. This inspired him to become an Anglican clergyman.
