Job R. Tyson


Job Roberts Tyson (1803 to 1858) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and became a Whig member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pain the Thirty-fourth Congress. Tyson finished his preparatory studies and taught school in Hamburg, Pa., then studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1827 and began practicing in Philadelphia whilst also engaging in literary pursuits. In 1858 Tyson died on his estate, "Woodlawn," in Montgomery County, Pa, and was laid to rest at the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia.
