Horace Mann Conaway
Some of the earliest American monographs examined the issue of Anglo-american reactions to the Revolution. Horace Mann Conaway examined constitutional influences in "The First French Republic: A Study of the Origin and the Contents of the Declaration of the Rights of Man, of the Constitution, and of the Adoption of the Republican Form of Govenment in 1792" (Ph. D. dissertation, Columbia University, 1902).
