Daniel Denton

Daniel Denton (1626 to 1703) was an early US colonist who led an expedition into the interior from northern Jersey. He participated in the purchase of the "Elizabethtown Tract" in 1664, in the region of present day Elizabeth, New Jersey, and in 1670 wrote the first English-language description of the region.
