Charles Cocks
Charles Cocks, 1st Baron Somers (29 June 1725 to 30 January 1806), was known as Sir Charles Cocks, 1st Baronet, and was a British politician who occupied a seat in the House of Commons between 1747 and 1784. He was the son of John Cocks and Mary Cocks. His paternal grandmother, Mary Somers was the sister of John Somers, or 1st Baron Somers, Lord Chancellor of England. Cocks matriculated fomWorcester College, Oxford in 1742 and in 1745 entered Lincoln's Inn. In 1750 he was called to the bar.
