Alfred Elwes

Alfred Elvis (1819-1888) was a British author of children's literature, an academician, philologist, and translator of French, Italian, and Portuguese literature into English in the nineteenth century. Perhaps he is best remembered for the translation of the medieval Arthurian novel “The Knight of January” and “Fair Brunissende”; The story of the times of King Arthur.
