Alexander McCaul
Reverend Alexander McCaul (May 16, 1799 to November 13, 1863) was an Irish Hebraist and a missionary to Jews. McCaul, the son of Alexander McCaul was born to a Protestant family in Dublin, 16 May 1799. Educated at a private school, and entering Trinity College, Dublin, in October 1814, he graduated with a B.A. in 1819, and then an M.A. in 1831. Receiving his D.D. in 1837 he spent time as a tutor to the Earl of Rosse, and in 1821 was sent as a missionary to Poland by the London Society for Promoting Christianity among the Jews.
