This book was published in 1910 as one of a series of books dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Civil War.
This book is dedicated to the three brothers of the Cushing family: Howard Bass Cushing, Alonzo Hereford Cushing and William Barker Cushing.
The book includes an overview of the history of their family in New England.
Also in this book, the military service of each of the three brothers is discussed in detail.
The Cushing family is the only family in American history whose member is buried in more than one United States Service Academies.
