Book description
Wolfers were the name of wolf hunters in North America in the 19th century and early 20th century.
These hunters earned money by selling wolf pelts, and then they also began to pay government rewards for the killed wolves.
From 1865 to 1895, they exterminated almost all wolves from Texas to South and North Dakota, from Missouri to Colorado.
The usual method of hunting wolves was to kill several ungulates, sprinkle their carcasses with strychnine, and return the next day to find the poisoned wolves.
The pages of this book describe the adventures of Robert Morris Peck and two of his companions in their wolves hunting.
All of them were recently dismissed soldiers - in the winter of 1861-1862.
