Saint Bernard (Bernard of Clairvaux) was a French Cistercian monk. He was a founder and first abbot of the Clairvaux Abbey. He reformed the Order. Saint Bernard was considered a "voice of conscience" and a dominant figure in Western Christianity of his time. He was one of the inspirers of the Second Crusade. Bernard of Clairvaux is a Saint of the Catholic Church, canonized by Pope Alexander III. On his account there are many works on a religious topic. This book is a translation of one of his works by a married couple of Coventry and Marianne Caroline Patmore. Coventry Patmore was a British poet and literary critic of the 19th century. The translation was started by his wife until her death, further and final translation by Coventry Patmore.
