This book is a new edition by Robert Hunter Semple published in 1878.
The Chelsea Physical Garden was founded by the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries to grow plants for use as medicines as the Apothecaries' Garden in London, in 1673.
This four acre garden is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the UK after Oxford University Botanic Garden.
Its rock garden is dedicated to alpine plants and Mediterranean plants and is the oldest in Europe.
This edition includes Illustrations, Plans of the Garden, And Catalogue Of The Plants, Arranged According To The Natural System.
