Handbook of farm labour – is a handbook which was published in 1868 and written by John Chalmers Morton, Scottish agriculturist and writer of 19th century. The following pages contain revised and updated material composed of two articles. In addition to this discussion of management, the quantity and value of labor, horse and steam used on English farms, as far as possible, details are provided on the costs of the various agricultural operations that are carried out by means of them. Based on this, the labor costs for the English various crops and products are calculated. The book was originally written seven years ago from the date of publication, and it is believed that its new edition is due to the general interest that aroused among agricultural workers. Accordingly, such additions have been made to its pages as necessary for recent agricultural history and progress.
