Fra Cipolla, and Other Poems

Fra Cipolla, and other poems – is a collection of poems which was published in 1839 and written by Sir John Hanmer. This collection consists of about fifty poems. Perhaps the author should have apologized for the poem that appears first on the title page of this volume, without following the same order in the arrangement of its contents. However, what precedes the poem was written to serve as an introduction to a series of similar fables. Although the author's intention in this regard was changed, the indication of this was more an accident than an intention to stay. These pages can hardly fail to show many differences and inequalities of styles, as they were created at intervals of six or seven years, while the opinions of the author and his strength of the great art, whose name they take in vain, inevitably came under criticism and have undergone a significant change.
