Book description

Since many engineers may not have the time or inclination for mathematical research, the author has attempted to provide in the following a descriptive description of the physical nature and meaning, origin and consequences of these phenomena, using very little and only the simplest form of mathematics to provide a general knowledge of "these phenomena." for those engineers who do not have time to devote to a more extensive study, and also to serve as an introduction to the study of "transition phenomena." Therefore, in the future, the author developed these phenomena, proceeding from the physical concept of energy, its accumulation and regulation, and widely used as illustrations oscillograms of such electrical discharges, waves and pulses received in industrial electrical circuits of all types, including acquainting the reader with transient phenomena by viewing their recording on the oscilloscope film. Therefore, I would recommend reading the following pages as an introduction to the study of "transitional phenomena", since the knowledge about physical nature obtained in this way materially helps in understanding their mathematical representation, which is obviously necessary for their numerical calculations and predetermination. The book contains a cycle of lectures on electrical discharges, waves and impulses, which he read to alumni of the Union University last winter as an elementary introduction and "translation from mathematics into English" "Theory and Calculation of Transient Electric Phenomena and Oscillations". A chapter has been added here on calculating the capacitance and inductance of conductors, since capacitance and inductance are the main quantities on which transients depend.
