Book description
Ayala's Angel - is a novel published in 1881 and written by Anthony Trollope, an English writer, one of the most successful and talented novelists of the Victorian era.
The works of Trollope reflected the problems of his time - political, social and family.
"Ayala's Angel" was written as a standalone novel and not part of a series, although some minor characters appear in other Trollope novels.
The plot of this novel centers on two orphan sisters, Lucy and Ayala Dormer, especially Ayala, and their trials, first with their relatives and then with their hearts.
As with most of Trollope's novels, the pages are mostly given over to subplots related to the main plot.
Due to the lack of success in his immediately preceding novels, Trollope found it difficult to publish Ayala's Angel.
It was first published in the US in the periodical Cincinnati Commercial.
