Book description
Australian poems – is a book about Adam Lindsay Gordon and his poetry, edited by Charles R. Long, President of The Gordon Memorial Committee.
Adam Lindsay Gordon was a 19th century British-Australian poet, equestrian, policeman and politician.
Gordon was the first Australian poet to gain significant recognition abroad, and according to his contemporary writer Marcus Clarke, Gordon's work represented "the beginning of national school of Australian poetry".
While there are several biographies of Adam Lindsay Gordon and editions of his poetry, this book fills a need nonetheless.
This edition contains a brief biographical sketch, and directly a collection of poems characteristic of Australia, accompanied by notes that help to better understand and appreciate them.
Also here are photos of the main monuments to Gordon in Australia.

I don't think I can even do this proper justice in a review other than telling everyone to go out and READ THIS BOOK!
