Book description
A London Plane-Tree, and Other Verse - is a collection of poems published in 1889 and written by Amy Levy.
Amy Levy was a British essayist, poet and novelist who is best remembered for her literary ability.
She was also known for her experience as a first Jewish woman at the University of Cambridge and a pioneering student at Newnham College, Cambridge.
Amy Lavy expressed feminist positions and made friends with other people living what was later called the life of the "new woman", some of whom were lesbians, as well as her relationship with both women and men in the literary and political circles of London in the 80 -s of the 19th century.
This book of poems is the last in the author's career.
The proofs for this volume were corrected by Amy Levy about a week before her death.
The texts in this collection of poems are among the first to show the influence of French symbolism.
