A history of South Africa – is a book, which was published in 1918 and written by Dorothea Fairbridge, a South African author and co-founder of the Guild of Loyal Women. The history of South Africa before the Union is nothing less than a prelude to the great events in which she was called to play her part almost before the ink had dried on the charter that bound her one people, whether of British, Dutch, French or any other origin. Her future is in the hands of her children. It is thanks to her that they must know what her past has gone into so that this future can be firmly built on knowledge, justice, a common love for their land and loyalty to the Empire of which she is a part.
