Book description
A doctor's table talk – is a book written by James Gregory Mumford, an American surgeon and writer.
In publishing this book in 1912, the author claims that the people described here are fictitious and do not represent real people.
Dr. Primrose, Dr. Ely, Dr. James, Dr. Flaxman, Dr. Consequence, Scholasticus, Scriba, and others have no real prototypes.
They were all created on the basis of composite studies.
The only exception is Dr. Optimus - a wonderful person, Dr. Edward Fitch Gushing from Cleveland and a very dear friend of the author, deceased by that time.
Real public and historical characters are not disguised and are indeed named in the text.
