Marcus Tullius Cicero
Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 BC to 43 BC) was a Roman lawyer , statesman and philosopher who wrote on rhetoric, orations, philosophy, and politics. He is revdered as one of Rome's greatest orators and prose stylists who was leading political figure in the last years of the Roman Republic. Cicero tried on vain to maintain the republican system's integrity in the midst of instability during the establishment of the Roman Empire. He was from a wealthy family of the Roman equestrian order, and alo served as a consul in 63 BC.
